It’s been a busy start to the new year in Hoboken Catholic Academy’s Campus Ministry! We kicked off the new year with the topic of grace.

Our discussion led us to grace being like a seed planted in us by God at our baptisms and how necessary the sacraments and prayer are to help that grace flourish in our lives. The students received their own seeds to bring home and plant.

In recognition of Vocations Awareness Week, we invited Sr Joann Marie Aumond, Pastoral Associate for Spirituality at SPP, and Fr Remo, pastor at St Ann’s Church, to speak about their own religious vocations as a sister and a Franciscan Friar. The students asked them questions ranging from when they wear their habits to their favorite basketball teams. In this Year of Faith, we spent some time last week defining faith and discussing what it looks like in action. The students’ “Faith is…” banner can be seen in the church–please take some time to look at their creative work!

Hoboken Catholic Academy – School Advisory Board

Do you aspire to make a difference in young people’s lives?  Do you support Catholic education?   Do you have time and talent to share in our parish community?

The Hoboken Catholic Academy School Advisory Board may be a special “ministry” for you!

The School Advisory Board, which consists of eleven to seventeen people representing the entire religious, business and professional communities are charged to provide advice and counsel to the Board of Pastors through the Principal:

To identify the school’s long range goals and formulating a strategic plan to meet these needs;

To develop and recommend objectives consistent with the Archdiocesan policies and regulations;

To develop recommendations to meet the established goals in areas appropriate for board action, such as admissions, public relations, finance, special services, development and physical plant;

To recommend methods for evaluating the school’s progress in achieving its goals and objectives;

If you are interested in joining School Advisory Board to continue to support Hoboken Catholic Academy as a strong academic institution, please contact our pastor for more information.   Applications will be accepted and reviewed by the Board of Pastors on a first come, first served basis.

HOBOKEN CATHOLIC ACADEMY – Pre-K/Kindergarten end of the year celebration will be held on Monday, June 6th at 8:30 am, 10:30 am and 12:30 pm in the gym.  Grade 8 Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Friday, June 10th at St. Ann’s Church at 10:00 am.  Grade 8 Graduation will be held on Saturday, June 11th at St. Ann’s Church at 10:00 am.
