Earlier today I was advised by the Office of the Archbishop of Newark the news of the suspension of priestly faculties and transfer of Father Warren Hall who, for the last year, had been exercising his priestly ministry as parochial vicar for our parish and that of St Lawrence. I acknowledge the decision of Archbishop Myers who has full canonical authority to determine the status and assignment of priests in the Archdiocese.

On behalf of our local Catholic Community, I express my gratitude to Fr Warren for the service that he provided to our parish through the celebration of Holy Mass, the administration of the Sacraments and his presence and love among us.

Although he may no longer be able to serve our parish, I ask you to join me in keeping Father Warren in your prayers. I know with certainty that our Lord who sees our heart and soul will continue to guide us with the loving tenderness of a Father. I pray also for those in our community who will be adversely affected by this news.

In observance of accepted practices, the parish directs all inquiries beyond this announcement to the Office of Communications of the Archdiocese of Newark.

Msgr Bob Meyer

UPCOMING EVENTS

Hoboken 9/11 Interfaith Memorial Service

The 9/11 Interfaith Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, September 11, at 2pm at Pier A Park in Hoboken. (Note that this is a different time of day from when it has often taken place in the past.) The one-hour service will involve as broad a range of Hoboken's religious leaders as possible. Participants will offer prayers, scriptural readings, and musical selections, and participate in the reading of the names of the 56 residents of Hoboken who were killed on that day. The celebrations will be followed by the 9/11 Memorial Concert at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Hoboken.
