My Dear Parishioners, Benefactors, Friends, and Supporters of Saints Peter & Paul Parish –
May God give you Peace.
As you will note, this year’s Parish Gala is dedicated to honoring the Parish-at-large, as we celebrate our 130th Anniversary! That’s right: it was on May 19, 1889, that the Parish was founded when the first Mass was celebrated in the parlor of the Rectory on Hudson Street. On that Day the Catholic Community of Saints Peter & Paul was born, serving not only our own Catholic Community, but also blessing the City of Hoboken with our Catholic Christian presence.
Our foundation is rooted in Our Lord Jesus Christ, and calls upon the intercession of our two patron Saints, Peter and Paul. We are also built upon the shoulders of all the faithful parishioners and supporters before us, who helped to bring us to this Day. Some have returned to the Lord, having completed their part of the Lord’s Mission on Earth; many are still with us. May it ever be so.
In celebrating the Parish, we celebrate all of them and each of you. We are the ‘modern day followers,’ of our predecessors and of the Lord Jesus. This is a time of celebration for us all! Won’t you please consider joining in the Gala Dinner on May 2, 2019, at 6:30pm at The Chart House in Weehawken? It will be a great time for our worshipping Community to gather together for an evening of fun and retrospection. If you are prevented from joining us personally, please do so in prayer and consider participating in one of the many sponsorship opportunities found in this mailing. However, the greatest joy would be if we could all be together to celebrate. Share the Invitation with your friends and anyone else who you feel would be interested in supporting or joining us.
Happy Anniversary! God Bless you for all that you have done in the past, and for all that you will continue to be for Saints Peter and Paul Parish.
Reverend Monsignor Michael A. Andreano, Pastor
